Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Cooperation (HSBC) has recently appointed Prateek Kumar as the Senior Vice President (VP)-Asset Analytics, leveraging his extensive expertise in retail banking, credit cards, risk management and analytics transformation. In his new role, he will focus on enhancing HSBC’s analytical capabilities, optimising portfolio risks and driving product innovation.
With a background in financial modeling, fraud mitigation and machine learning, Kumar aims to strengthen the bank’s strategic decision-making and develop Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven models for fraud scoring and risk assessment.
Serving previously as VP-Assets and Transactional Banking Analytics Lead at HSBC, Kumar carried out his duties in data visualisation, marketing strategy and fraud detection. His leadership in credit risk management, pricing optimisation, and customer segmentation delivered significant business outcomes.
Kumar’s career includes tenures at JPMorganChase, Ernst & Young (EY), and HSBC Vietnam, where he established himself as a thought leader in analytics transformation and technology consulting. His experience in AI-driven solutions and advanced analytics positions him to lead HSBC’s future-focused initiatives in asset analytics.
