Cashfree Payments, a leading Bengaluru-based online payment processor, has announced the appointment of Piyush Anchliya as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In his new role, Anchliya will spearhead financial strategy, optimize operational efficiency, and support the company’s next phase of scalable growth, working closely with Co-founder Akash S.
Anchliya joins Cashfree from Bandhan AMC Limited (formerly IDFC Asset Management Company), where he held the CFO position. With over 15 years of experience in financial services, his previous tenures include roles at Barclays Investment Bank in New York and Lehman Brothers in London. His global exposure and financial acumen are expected to play a crucial role in strengthening Cashfree’s financial infrastructure.
The appointment comes at a pivotal moment for Cashfree, which is rapidly expanding its presence in India’s digital payments space. The company recently received approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to operate as a payment aggregator for online and cross-border transactions, and to issue mobile wallets and prepaid payment instruments.
Additionally, Cashfree recently raised $53 million in a funding round led by KRAFTON Inc. and Apis Partners, further fueling its growth ambitions. Currently, the company processes $80 billion annually, serving a customer base of over 800,000 businesses.
Anchliya’s appointment signals Cashfree’s continued commitment to financial discipline, innovation, and sustainable expansion in a highly competitive fintech landscape.
